Happy Monday! How was your weekend….hope it was beyond wonderful!
There’s a clothesline on the outside of our cottage.
It is on the side deck. I love it. We put it up years ago, when we first moved here. Of course, it wasn’t used for drying clothes.
I sort of used it for decorating. Of course. However, over the years,
I’ve become very fond of it…in an old fashiony kind of way.
My Grandmother (nana) dried all her clothes on the line, and some of my fondest childhood memoies are “helping” her hang out and take in the wonderful smelling clothes.
I have the same wonderful memories of watching her iron. (better get out the ironing board) It brings back the memory of simple things in life, and helps me enjoy them. If you are a regular visitor to “Marcia’s Cottage” you know that keeping a cozy, happy, inspiring home is what I am all about.

Nothing makes me happier than picking a bouquet, or two from our garden, seeing the wind blow, and on a summer day sharing ice tea with those around me. Well, getting back to the clothesline…
I now occasionally will take the time to let my sweet linens dry on it. It’s so nice to take a break from a busy day to go outside and hang my clothes on the line. It’s my quiet thinking time. It keeps me grounded. And, of course it brings me joy….
