Paris…The Eiffel Tower

– Thomas Jefferson, American President

Hi!

So here we are…first day in Paris!

All checked into our hotel arrival

and after resting a bit decided to go for a walk.

Just a few doors down from the hotel we saw a cafe that served a variety pastas and salads…and got a little something to eat first.

After dinner we strolled over to the Eiffel Tower…about

because it wasn’t that far from our hotel.

It was a beautiful evening and before we knew it…

there it was…

the magnificent tower.

There was an entrance you had to go through just to check your bags…so we got in the line to enter. We actually didn’t have any plans on going up to the Eiffel Tower that day…we thought we would just go look…since we thought we needed to have tickets ahead of time due to the long lines. However it was just one of those moments that everything fell into place.

There was a line…however it wasn’t that long…you could see people going up. We got in line and paid 50 euros to go all the way to the top. I was so excited!

We waited in line…there was a French couple in front of us and a British couple behind us. We exchanged pleasantries…and then we got on the elevator. We went first to the first landing and then there was a sandwich place and since I was hungry again…I ordered a sandwich.

We weren’t in any rush…we took our time and then we went to the next level to the very top…which was spectacular!

One of the highlights of our trip…there we were at the top of the Eiffel Tower  the beam of light that was a spotlight going around the city.

There was a gentle rain that caught the rainbow prism of the beam of light…it was just the most romantic spectacular view..we took in all of the city and stayed up there for quite a while.

Next stop…

How fun for you both! I enjoyed reading about the history of the creator of the tower and of his unique structures. The tower has certainly inspired great art!
