Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. I’m so happy to see you today my friend. Shall we have a little tea.

Happy Tuesday! How was your extended weekend? Did you do anything exciting….btw...resting, and relaxing, definitely counts for exciting.

Joe and I just returned from a trip to Bandon~by~the~Sea in Oregon. We own an adorable 1946 Beach cottage there.   https://marciascottagebythesea.com/2014/06/our-cottage-by-sea/

Bandon, Oregon, is located in the southern third of Oregon’s coast on the Coquille River.

Believe it or not there is only a population of a little over 3,000. Have you traveled here before? The first time I experienced this  beautiful small town that oozes charm was over 20 years ago.

I was returning from a visit with my sister who lived in Bend, Oregon. I was smitten with it’s high cliffs that went down to the GIGANTIC beaches.

There are giant rock formations that look like some kind of sea creature, or to me as a former elementary school teacher…something out of Maurice Sendak’s renowned children’s book “Where the Wild things Are” You would have to see it to believe it.

And, all of this is what makes a charming small town on the sea.

Oh, and of course summer is a pretty nice time to go, since the average July high temp is 67°.

During the winter months the average low is 38. And, I’ve been told that the wettest month of course is December (10″)

                 People go storm watching there!

Of course I would definitely be inside our cozy little cottage sipping tea. Of course. Even though it was a short little stay….it was perfect. Of course. I hope you had a perfect extended weekend too sweet friend. Enjoy your week.

                                                                                      xoxo…..
