Hello, From The Southern Oregon Coast

Traveling…it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller

Hello, from the Southern Oregon Coast…

August has arrived…

and I’ve been staycationing

however for many August means vacation time

This small out-of-the-way beach town has had its share of visitors

I’m thinking that many have chosen to vacation here whether for a day…week…or even an  entire summer…

because where else can you go to escape the heat

and crowds…

other than a small-out-of-the-way beach town

Recently as I sat sipping coffee with a friend

watching kids and adults perusing the shop windows

and walking around enjoying the scent of the ocean

mingled with that of fish and chips.

August has arrived here at this small out-of-the-way beach town and this  staycationing Cali-for-gor-ean gal is loving being a part…

taking time to enjoy life.

Earlier in the week I had a craving for salmon and decided to prepare salmon burgers.

I remember preparing these quite often during the summer when I lived in California and for some reason hadn’t prepared them much since I moved here.

I purchased about 1  1/2 pounds  Steelhead salmon 2 large potatoes for steak fries and 2 avocados for a dip that can be used for both spreading…

and dipping

This is one of those meals that really satisfies…

a true staycationer

Happy August!🏖

Thank you for sharing your out-of-the-way beach town. The salmon burgers looked delicious and your little doggie is adorable.
    Happy August!!

Happy August to you, too, Marcia. Your little beach town looks so inviting. Makes me long for the coast. In Pennsylvania, I will have to settle for a lakeside beach, but I love those, too. You photos are truly spectacular!

      Hi Jo Ann,
So nice to see you here today. Thank you for the compliment about the photos however it’s the natural beauty of the Oregon coast. I enjoy the lakeside beaches also. Any place where you can just relax and enjoy doing little to nothing. Ha! Thanks again for stopping by and chatting today.

I can see why you fell in love with this Charming Beach Town—especially being from So. Ca.—-there’s no place like this —all our beaches are so densely populated !!!

      Hi Pat,
You are so right about the crowded beaches in California. I miss certain things about them because I grew up playing in the sun there. However now I truly appreciate this fabulous coast I call home. Xo

We are enjoying a stay-cation this year also due to my partner’s heart bypass. It’s been nice, relaxing/calming and my little garden loves the attention. Travel plans are always in the back of my mind though…where to next? ;0)

    • Marcia Ren says:

      Hi Jenny,
I’m sorry to hear about your partner. Stay-ca-tion-ing is perfect for healing and gardening… especially in your new surroundings. I have a question for you…I think if I remember correctly you had once shared you visited the Cotswolds. (I think?) Anyway could you share your favorite villages…
