My WeEk, A NeW PaIr Of GlAsSeS, & A TrIbUtE…♡

I just came in from outside where I have been working in the garden & decorating the window box with small patriotic flags for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

While outside my mind wandered to my last Memorial Day spent living in SoCal. Two months later I moved to a small town on the Oregon coast. benefits of gardening is that your mind gets to wander

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea.

Happy Friday! I hope you had a most memorable week. I certainly have. The weather here in southern California has been lovely, and so I’ve taken advantage of it by…
working in our garden
baking
Creating cute outfits
 a.n.d….
shopping for a new pair of glasses. Ha!
Well, anyway I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend, and here’s a salute to a glorious Memorial Day. I thought I’d post the photos of our sweet cottage which were taken between 2004-2015.

Forever in gratitude for all our military.♡

Enjoy some good old family fun time this weekend. Be safe my sweet friend.

 xoxo…

Oh,  I almost forgot! In case you are attending a gathering over the weekend. Here’s a delightfully easy recipe for a cake you can serve with pride. (big smile)

FLAG CAKE

1 white cake mix
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Mix and bake cake according to package directions in 9″ x 13″ baking dish or platter. Beat cream until soft peaks form.  Add sugar and vanilla.  Spread whipped cream in an even layer over top of cake.  Place 2 lines of blueberries at right angles in top left corner to form a 4-inch square.  Fill square with additional lines of blueberries.  Leave small amount of white cream showing between the berries.  Use overlapping sliced strawberries to form horizontal red stripes from side to side on cake, allowing cream to show for white stripes.  Refrigerate until serving time.  Refrigerate until serving. Makes 12-15 servings. Enjoy!

I’ve added several What I Wear On Friday vlogs just in-case you haven’t seen them.

In the video below, the top that I am wearing was marked down to $14.99…so with my $10.00 Kohl’s card, I only paid $4.99!!! Hoorah! Hoorah! Hoorah!! Now that is something to celebrate!
