Letters From Abroad Part 2

Hi! Just in case you missed last weeks post in SoCal Part 1 this will help you get caught up on my recent travels.

I decided to begin today’s post with a question. since I don’t know where else to begin

What direction do you want to go this year?

Have you given this any thought?

Just recently I attended a Women’s Retreat read more finishing up a visit to SoCal

and so naturally I’m in a contemplative state of mind.

It’s a good thing though. Very good.

There are several reasons why I return to this retreat house each year.

The most obvious one is I return so that I can turn away from the world for a weekend.

I find that going to a place where there’s no nightly news, or all the other outside  influences

I begin to hear & experience a deeper sense of life within.

I am able to take a deeper look at this journey I’m on.

The weekend connects me to myself again.

I find that when the noise from outside is silenced, another voice speaks louder.

I begin to hear and see a clearer path.

And that’s very good.

Happy February!

Love this post about searching within your self… I think it is a good way to start the new year… and plot out the path one would like to take

I agree that it’s a good idea to get away from our daily lives, find peace and quiet so that we can listen to our souls as they settle down. I take my dog and drive into the country to walk on a quiet road for an hour or so…it is my escape…or is it? Perhaps it is my real existence and connection to the earth. I hope your journey has brought you some sense of peace… :0)

Hi Jenny! I am so lucky to live on this beautiful coast where I can walk for miles at a time. So peaceful & beautiful right in my backyard. The retreat is very special for me too. This was my 14th year attending, and I’m glad I was able to. Sounds like you have a good quiet method also.
