Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡            Happy Thursday sweet friend….♡           Patience.…it’s almost Friday…(grin) hmmmm….I’m wondering if you gentle reader are in one of life’s many transitions…of course you are. I think we are all constantly moving, changing, puttering, floating, and perhaps even occasionally feel as if we are sinking. y.i.k.e.s Okay, well at least I know that I am. (not sinking,  but always growing, and changing) …..♡ Yesterday, my husband “surprised” me with a lunch treat on the Queen Mary, in Long Beach, California. It was delightful, from beginning to end. Have you ever been on a cruise before? I never have. It seems like a very romantic, and adventurous excursion though. I really enjoyed my day. And, guess what….I learned a few … Continue reading

A SuMmEr AfTeRnOoN….♡

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Happy Wednesday! I’m hoping you are having a great week….♡ Yesterday, a couple of friends dropped by for a visit. … It was sort of planned….We had been meaning to get together for the longest time now. And, so finally I said “just come over for a simple afternoon tea at three”…oh, and of course I said  “p.l.e.a.s.e” (grin) It was very, very, easy for me to put a simple setting together. Our cottage parlor is almost always perfectly ready for a little company. And, I was actually thrilled to have such a spontaneous gathering. Sometimes, those are the most enjoyable. I just looked around, and gathered the things I needed. No fussing about this and that. Because the weather has been warm, I decided to make … Continue reading

A Summer TeA PaRtY…♡

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Happy Thursday! How’s your week going so far….so far, I hope it is great…..(grin)   As you are probably aware… I enjoy hosting little gatherings… Mostly tea parties.  I am not really sure how I got started in hosting. Particularly since I really didn’t begin “cooking” until very late a little later in life. Yep…that is the real truth. And, I believe it was around 20 years ago that I had been invited to my first tea party.  I was hooked from that moment on… I’ve been the tea lady ever since. I’ve shared tea with so many people~ from business executives to book-Club ladies, to five year old children…hosted teas just for fun….bridal showers, birthdays, bible studies, friendships, and other events.  I love the whole process of … Continue reading

My WeEkEnD…♡

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Did you do anything special…♡ For me, my favorite kind of weekend is when I can combine,  a little fun,  work,  and relaxation. And, that’s exactly the kind of weekend I had. Saw a couple of movies, visited with friends, went out for dinner, lunch… and even breakfast! Wow! Lots of eating out this weekend…sometimes that happens. (Grin) of course that was the fun part of my weekend too. The work part (sort of) was a workshop that I had attended on Saturday. One of my friends had inspired me to attend. She is a facilitator for a women’s bible study I belong to. She asked if I could attend for her. Sure! The first part of the workshop in the … Continue reading

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ How’s your weekend going so far….I am hoping that your having a great one…Of course mine has been just delightful ….Of course. .. On my way home from a wonderful workshop yesterday, I stopped by at a fabulous nursery. I had been admiring a garden statue there for quite sometime. It is now standing in our garden. (smile) It is a small statue of St. Francis of Assisi.. I must admit I’ve had an affinity for this Saint for quite a while. Some of the reasons are very sentimental… such as my husband and I were married at the St. Francis Chapel…then honeymooned in Italy. Although we didn’t actually visit Assisi….the presence of the Saint was everywhere. And, perhaps one of the most popular sculptured images of … Continue reading
